But I know that in order for us to stay alive, I have to hold on to that small glimmer of hope that’s underneath all that ugliness: the Syrian human is still present.”

«Étant à l’extérieur de la Syrie, ça m’a permis de voir la crise syrienne d’une autre perspective. Je ne vois pas de bien et de mal, je ne vois pas de partis, pas de coalitions, pas de gouvernement; je ne vois que l’humanité disparaître. Mais je sais que dans le but pour nous de rester en vie, je dois me tenir à cette petite lueur d’espoir qui est en dessous de toute cette laideur: l’humain syrien est toujours présent.»

”وجودي خارج سوريا خلاني شوف الأزمة السوريّة من منظور تاني. ما عم بشوف صح و خطأ، و ما عم شوف أحزاب و تحالفات و حكومات، عم شوف بس الانسانية عم تتلاشى. بس بعرف انو لحتى نقدر نضل عايشين، لازم اتمسك ببصيص الأمل يلي قابع تحت كل هاد القبح، بأنو الانسان السوري لسّا موجود.“
